College Group is a gathering of students, and other college-aged young adults, from various colleges and universities in the greater Seattle area. We gather together to draw near to God, grow in our Gospel-identity and practice living the rhythms of Jesus as a community.
Who is this for?
We call this “College Group” because we’re mostly made up of college students, but anyone college-aged who’s looking for community is welcome here. We love that this group is currently a mixture of students from many different schools—University of Washington, Northwest University, Bellevue College, Seattle Pacific University, Lake Washington Tech, etc. Following Jesus is more fun with a variety of backgrounds, voices, and contexts.
Why do we gather?
The rhythms of College Group aim toward knowing God and being known by him, as well as knowing and being known by each other. Scripture shows us a connection between gathering as a community of believers and drawing near to God. These two things do not exist separate from one another but actually weave together and spring off of one another.
What do we value?
We value honesty, vulnerability, and authenticity.
Part of the encouragement that occurs as a result of gathering together a result of doubts-shared and questions-asked. We call that “working out your salvation” (Phil. 2:12)—learning how to follow Jesus. If you wrestle what you believe, you are welcome here.
We value storytelling
To be a child of God is to be rooted and found in the greatest story ever told. Faith comes through “hearing the word” (Rom. 10:17). Our own salvation stories and unfinished testimonies are retellings of the Good News of the Gospel—a story that never gets old. So we gather to share stories—to remember and declare His faithfulness in the past, His presence in the present, and His promises for the future.
